How do I legally own a machine gun in Wisconsin?

If it is a fully auto then you need to be 21 and you need a Class 3 License from the government. I dont know about local laws regarding carrying it but the class 3 thing is federal.

If it is a semi auto with a barrel longer than 16" then you can legally own it just like a rifle or shot gun. Again carry laws would depend on your state, im guessing it cant be loaded.

If it is a rifle cartridge you would be fine buying ammo, 7.62, 5.56 and all those. If you buy something like a MP5 or something using a pistol cartridge then you cannot legally buy ammo unless you are 21. Thats federal.

Google Wisconsin gun laws and you should easily be able to find something about legally carrying it around.

having a felony and being on probation none of my guns are legal...but its something I don't really worry about...you get the best deals on guns off the street anyway...most serial #'s have been filed...so they are pretty much untraceable....Just make sure its hid pretty well in your vehicle in case your stopped...if its hid properly it will go undetected...the dogs sniff for drugs not guns...I've had my vehicles searched from top to bottom and they never found my guns in them ...yet I can have it in my hands in less than 5secs if a time comes in need.....

Ignoring the fact that a "machine gun" will cost $40,000+, Not going to happen......
How do you even know what "machine gun" he is talking about. He couldve just used that term for lack of a more specific term.

OP, please specifiy a model. Are you looking at an AR/AK/M16 type weapon or what not.

There have been laws passed to where even if you can own a machine gun... The tax on it is amazingly high. Ie: AK-47 semi-auto = $450+.... AK-47 full-auto = $20,000+... Unless you can get it in the black market... Or you can by a semi auto and by a kit for it (usually online)... Or you can open it up and shave the hair pin (these two are illegal)......... In other words... its hard and expensive to own one legally... I wanted to buy me a P-90... Definite no no after hearing it costs $20,000.... There are a lot of semi-auto versions of fully auto guns though.... Carrying wise the clip and the gun has to be separate.. Not sure if the clip as to be empty. The rifle must be in the trunk (in avcase)and the clip in the front. Taking it into the gun range, you must inform the people you are bringing it in.

I dont consider any gun you mentioned to be a "machine gun". I consider those to be fully automatic rifles:fyi:

You must have a class 3 license to legally posses a fully auto rifle. Any modified gun (IE, making a semi to full auto or shortening a barrel is a federal offense)

Well thats where a matter of opinion comes in. It is open to interpretation.

LOL, why would you need a machine gun?
In case if them terrorists come I'll be ready from the get-go hahaha... I always wanted to handle guns and learn about them, after all it is our rights, right? Oh and in case if someone tries to mess with my family, I would turn the intruders into bullethives.

I'm 27 fyi, I started thinking about guns when Johnny Law Lulz mentioned something about a Benelli shotgun, they look sick as hell. I then went to my friend's house(who has like 20 guns in the cabinet and random ones hidden around the house), he's all about the Smith & Wessen and has a 357 and a black .500... the barrel on the 500 is the longest I've ever seen in person on a revolver, he said that's what his dad used to protect against grizzly bears while hunting. Not saying there are huge bears in Wisconsin but it don't hurt to have more firepower than needed.

Then I started looking around and found some cool stuff, like this small Gatling gun kit... mount two of these in my car and have them pop out from the side doors.

Wow! Lots of bad info in this thread. If you don't already own a decent semi-auto rifle, like an AR15, start with that. It's a great gun. You wont' need full auto.

Full auto is very expensive. Cheap ones start at about $3k and go up to over $100,000. $5k-$10k is about average.

Federal laws are a little complex, but not impossible to figure out. Background check, $200 tax stamp and wait several months, but it's the cost of the gun that will stop you. No new machine guns can be made after 1986, so any that were legal before then have exploded in value.

No. The only tax is a $200 tax stamp. That's it. The rest is just market demand. A $400 gun in 1986 is now worth over $5k, just because no new machine guns can be sold to peasants. Any modifying can cost you 10 years in club fed, per offense. The rest of your post is also gibberish.
