Sound deadening helps but sometimes not a complete cure. I have 50ft of second skin in the trunk of my caddy and it still rattles a little.

Dynamat is DEFINITELY not the best deal. It is ridiculously expensive. I can get 50+ square feet of Second Skin (http://www.secondskinaudio.com) for the price of like 20 square feet of dynamat. Does the job just as good(if not better) and costs a ton less.

Dynamat original is so poor I got it handed to me for free. I put 2-3 layers around trouble spots in my trunk before it began to even make a notable difference. I used brown bread on my license plate and in my hatch, and it made a world of difference in one layer.

note: I don't have that loud of a subwoofer system.

If you wanna ask me, I dont even use anything of the sort. Here's a pic of of what I do most often. If you look closely all if is is caulking in the grooves on the trunk lid. It does wonders at keeping the rattling from the trunk lid down. What it does is it keeps the sheet metal skin of the body from flexing so far that it hits the under bracing with you can see. It virtually eliminates all the rattling from the lid itself. It doesnt stop other problem areas but it does wonders for the lid.

LOL. I think I'm the most ghetto. I took the licence plate, used duct tape with some sort of like sewing material (a ripped t-shirt would work) and some double sided tape. I applied the duct tape and material to the spots that excurt the most and the part that hits against the car, and then I used double sided tape in the tiny areas that I couldn't reach with the tape. MAJOR GHETTO!
