How do I connect speaker wire to my sub-woofer enclosure terminal cup in the inside?

There's this thin piece of metal, one for positive and negative with a nut attached to it on the bottom and a hole on the top part of the metal. Do I just stick the speaker wire into the hole and wrap it around or something? Also what do I do on the outside of the terminal cup?
