how decent are ma hk4000's for budget amps

just swapped my extra kicker kx1200.1 for an ma hk4000 my buddy had.its not the best i know but i heard it pushing a btl n2 very well. i figure itll push a 2500 watt sub with the gain turned down a bit pretty well. i had only 50 bucka into the kx so its whatever but i was looking for opinions. i know how to mod them to run below 2 ohms semi safely but i dont plan to do that. just looking for opinions. might list it on here for a good price.

This was my amp rack in my old daily beater....

If you can get an xs d3100 you'll be as close to set as you can be with a single battery in the back. if you dont have one on you hu then buy a little digital voltmeter for up front, and watch that mofo. My rule of thumb is avoid letting it get under 12v. it also helps alot to make sure your rpm's are up, say at or around 3k. Bumping at idle will drain your **** quick. if possible stop bumping a few min before you get to your destination so that the bats can get a lil bit of a charge before you let the car sit.

do not crank that up on a stock alt a nd a single bat up front. wait till you have some juice for it. ho alty sooner or later will help alot. and you'll hear the difference //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The controller on them is quite unstable, you start doing anything more than what its designed to do and you'll get the smoke. They're just a stop gap amp before you have to buy something that will do the same power and is reliable. I got my first 150 db with just one of the amps.
