How connect 4 speakers in this connector? - Dodge Dakota 2010

Hi!!!

Im Gary from Chile. Im triying to find some car stereo to do an upgrade in my Dakota 2010. Desambling to put it out the original radio, I found that the connector its so extrange, because use only 4 wires por 4 speakers... How is this possible?

Check the wiring between the speakers on one side of the vehicle. I know GM was wiring factory speakers in series around that time frame, (instead of in parallel, how we would all do it). Not sure how long that was going on. You probably don't have a fade option on that stereo (no front to back). If you're going to upgrade the head unit, you probably need to upgrade the speakers, and run new wire.

They may be using an amp or head unit that is 8 ohms, and then the speakers get 4 ohms each. If you might want to use the factory speakers, use a multimeter and check their resistance/ohms if it doesn't say on the speaker. They will probably sound horrible on a new head unit. Even really low wattage speakers should sound better. They just probably won't get LOUD without amplifier power.

I don't think it's that easy to answer "for a complete beginner". amp and speakers ratings are those peak or RMS? Are these already installed...
