how close ............8x 12" subwoofers

4 subs up 4 subs down firing towards each other. how far apart can they be? 2 or 3" to close?

sketchup not anywhere near to scale. the hieght is way off. there is a back piece of mdf to the smaller sub box...if that makes sence. sealed no port.

i will have to glass the trunk floor to get as much volume as possible. mini wall kinda, i can go all the way up to the back of the back seat. the back seat would be down. i dont wanta hear "theres not enough room for 8x 12s." the trunk is big, and as long as the volume is sufficient it will fit. i need to know if anyone has done subs firing into each other and if 4" is to close.

im thinking it might be a problem to. but i have seen pictures on the net with the subs firing into each other

i thought of that but by angling the baffles i think i will loose to much internal volume

You would be better off with like 4 15s or something.

check with the dude running all the 18" nightshades, he's firing them into eachother in a square. he might have some info. there is a build log on here i think, theres one on SSA for sure

also, ive seen a setup with 4 15"s ported firing into a small chamber like that (minus subs on the top firing down). it was sort of a loading chamber. absolutely slammed the lows. but im not sure how subs firing from bottom AND top will work out though

whats the excursion on them.. 2-3" from cone to cone and if they have 1-2" of excursion they will slap each other..

the subs are going to be close

there hx2 punch 1" xmax im guessing.

so 4" from baffle ???
