Ok so I am told that the metal sheeting around the rca is the ground. How can I ground this rca out? How can I fix this?

You'll have to find a sleeve to replace the one that is missing.

Perhaps you could call up one of the amp repair facilities and see if they could send you the part you need.

I'm going through parts express and can't find the part I'm looking for.

I tried taking one off another amp it fit around but then the stem part would not fit through the insert of the orion 2500D. And taking off RCA sleeves are a big *****. I guess ill be calling spectronix tomorrow.

No. Don't do that...

Instead, cut some of the plastic (not a lot, just some) off the RCA head... wrap wire around that, and solder it to the RCA shielding. (I wish I had a picture... I don't) tape the wire to the RCA so if the wire snags on anything, it won't rip off the RCA. Then, run the wire and attach it to the head unit.

When you wrap around the RCA of the head unit, you're bridging the gap between the RCA shield and the head unit case. This way, it's a direct and solid connection, rather than a pinch-type of connection. This way, even if the RCA's are unplugged, they are still grounded to the head unit.

EDIT:: LOL, I just realized that's an amp. Disregard the previous statement(s). But, the shielding isn't the ground, it's the negative run of the RCA.

If it was a headunit I wouldn't have even suggested trying to find a sleeve. Pioneer headunits anyone? Haha.
