how can i fix this lagging issue?

well im playing call of duty with my friend, and in the 2 games we've played so far, ive lagged out of. anyone know how i can fix this problem? i know the router is the problem. are there some settings i can switch around or something?

I just have windows update running. But even without it running, I still lag out.

i've been having the same problem recently. my connection has been getting random lag spikes with high latency rates. it's really frustrating.

I play all the time and have not had any trouble with XBL.

Theirs a website that shows you how to open the ports of your routers i'll look it up.

I know a few people who have done this and it worked out for them.

Click your router and follow directions.

i'd say open the ports or put the 360's ip in the DMZ if you have that option. other than that go wired and disable any other computers accessing the internet in the house.

whenever i click save to change any settings, nothing happens. like when i clicked save to open the ports, the page didnt load or anything. but when i clicked dont save (just to see what happens), the page loaded.
