Ok so I just recieved my Hifonics bxi608 which is 600 rms @ 1 ohm, and will be powering a pair of 12" Kicker CVR's..the manual for the amp say to use a minimum of 4 gauge wire for the ground and power wire, when i bought my wiring kit from the shop they told me the 8 gauge kit would be fine, how big of a risk is running this with 8 gauge? will it be ok or will it damage shit. i'd like your thoughts asap so i can get this baby installed.

It wouldn't damage anything, but I never want to do the minimum. 8 gauge just looks too thin to me. It will work though. I've seen worse.

8 guage will be fine without a doubt BUT i don't know if overkill is ever a bad thing when it comes to wiring?....especially if you decide to upgrade the system/amp down the road or run 2? at which time you'd be ripping that scrawny 8g wire out anyway but for the 600 hifonics, it is good enough.
