how big of a garage do I need?

I might be building a garage here in the next year or so, how big do you guys recommend? I have a small backyard, and I just want something to pull my truck (03 silverado ex. cab) in to work on and not have to constantly be closing and opening the doors to walk by, also needs to have room to store some tools. Nothing fancy needed here, I've been looking at a pole barns, any insight on those?

start with a measuring tape... then make a mach up with ribbon/twine/rope/some long shit drive your truck in and pretend there is walls there

Go as absolutely big as you can. No one has ever built a garage and said "well this is way to big, should have went smaller" but that can't be said for the opposite.

i was thinking a 20x20, think thatd be big enough? Were probably gonna move in 5-6 years so i dont wanna splurge too much on it.

Actually, when we built my dads, he said that when we started the dry wall work LOL.... 50' wide, 25' deep with 12' ceilings....

my old garage was 40x20x10 and I LOVED it....

That'd be waaaay to big. It'd be bad ***, but way too big for our yard. My dad shop is like 80 x 40 x 15 or something like that, it's gigantic. (makes me depressed)

Does anyone have any insight on the 20x20?

We have all seen huge *** garages before. Jay Leno... I worked on a HUGE cabin up in Pinetop, AZ. The owner had the cabins shaped like a barn on steriods. It had three floors. the bottom floor was basically a garage, You could put 3 and a half huge rv's side by side and front to back and still had room to walk. and the outer areas of the garage had bays in it. wash room, game room, shop rooms, ect.

Back to op question... bigger the better. need room for future projects. You want room for two of those trucks and about 7 feet on all four sides.
