not sure if this is the right forum or not .... i have a sealed box for 2 15" its 1.92 cubic feet per side and the subs i have are diamond audio d6 15" i believe they need 2.25 i think for sealed enclosure diamonds web site says (vb ft3 2.25) which i guess means 2.25 cubic feet...will this hurt the subs? thanks

ummm it could possibly hurt them. They will sound horrible and personal experience I had my cone and dustcap separate on my kappas and Im thinkin it was b/c of the small box

You could stuff it with polyfill to try to increase the "apparent" volume, but there's a limit to how effective it'll be.

The problem here isn't that it'll hurt the subs (it's much harder to reach mechanical limits in a too-small enclosure vs. one that's much larger), but the sound will be peaky with no low end extension, if the enclosure really is too small.

It will limit low frequency extension, increase output in the upper bass frequencies, it will give a more "tight" feeling to the sound, and your mechanical power handling should be higher. This is all compared to the 2.25 ft^3 enclosure. How noticeable will these things be? It's difficult to say but no, you shouldn't damage the sub by putting it in a small sealed enclosure.

is that a cover of an iron maiden album in your avatar? and its not gonna hurt your subs that much...put some(im not sure what u call it in the states, polyfill?) in the box and ull be ok...especially if u listen to maiden...
