Bridge the two channels. Unfortunately you'll have to run it at 4 ohms.

Unfortunately because your sub is dual 4 you'll have to run your amp at an 8ohm impedance.

that amp is great for ur sub...the rockford one...as for the amp ure using now...bridging it is the bst option....ure amp will roughly do 300wrms at 8 ohms bridged and thats still quite enough to get loud....if u plan on buying the rockford...go for it....but sometimes its good to get a bigger amp incase u plan on upgrading...as for bridging...

I don't know what's wrong with the set up now. Leave it how it is. In order to avoid sending conflicting signals to the diff VC's (as would occur with stereo sound) go into your HU options and set your sub to MONO. Or, if you can't find that option. Go pull the red RCA off your amp.

leave it how it is, no need to change the amp and theres nothing wrong with running a amp in stereo to your subs. If you do decide to rewire the sub for 8 ohms you will get the same output you get now. No need to change it though as far as i'm concerned. You may want to check the gains though, maybe their too high if your smelling glue but again if its a new sub its just excess glue burning off.

I ran the rcas through the "subwoofer" pre out on my alpine ida-x200 so wouldent it send a "bass" signal anyways?

As long as each coil gets the same power it will be fine.

But I have seen subs where two amps were used, Eat the coil off on one side.
