how bad is fire exstinguisher and amp?

my car started on fire and my amp was in the trunk where to fire started when the cops put it out my amp was caked in the powder is there any way to get my amp to work again?

I'm suprised no one has said this yet. But

Wait, the amp was close enough (and hot enough) to set gas on fire? Do you have heat damage, maybe?

there was a hole in my tank on top and apparently the heat off the amp started it

wow, I don't know about this. It would take a lot of heat to ignite gas. I could be wrong, but I've never heard of that. Now a spark that's a differant story, but just heat???? Did you put the hole in the tank screwing down the amp? That sucks.

lol. that is pretty shitty. but ****, ive never had any amp get that hot. even when i had grounding issues with an older Profile amp.

like said, towel it clean then open it up. if it was the powder spray-shit , than you should be able to use some air to get most of it off but you will more than likly have to do some cleaning if some got into the casing.

No way it was started by just heat alone or your amp would be burnt up on the inside. Something had to of sparked for the fire to start.
