Hooking up an LOC?

i'm hooking up a system in my friends 1996 BMW 318TI. I am having trouble finding a place to hook up the LOC. Since he is using hte stock head unit, should I wire it to the back of the HU and run RCA's to the back? The wires for the left rear speaker and right rear speaker are on the different sides of the car.. so... what should I do to hook it up? I would rather hook it up to the speakers if I could, can I bridge the wires together and just hook it up to one of the speakers? Thanks.

alright i did it, worked out very nicely. Got the wiring diagram from some BMW forum and it took about two hours to hook up. WOooohoo
