hooking up a LED theft scanner

so I bought one of the LED theft scanner's lol, until I can afford to put in a decent alarm system......

im wondering if anyone can explain how this thing hooks up,

step 1. Black wire to batt neg or chassis ground

step 2. yellow wire to Ignition - ground when engine is off (fuse box i.e Radio fuse)

step 3. red wire to batt pos.

can someone explain step 2 in retard please, I dont understand what I connect the yellow wire to

I know when install anything i hook up to ignition i splice it into my ignition wire that runs under your steering wheel. look it up in you book to make sure its the right color.. Also you might be able to run it to your fuse box and you should have an ignition fuse you could run the wire to temporarily

if u want to make it real easy take ur deck out and hook it up to the yellow wire on ur wires come n off ur deck

and what just tie in the yellow wires together?

I mean cut a .75inch section of the yellow wire of and tie in the wire from the LED scanner?
