Hooked up amp... now I'm pissed

I've had this eD 9.1 sitting in my office for a couple months now, waiting for time to finish my install. Subs are 2 eD 11kv2 dual 4 ohms. Hooked everything up like eD recommends, one sub to each set of terminals, showing the amp a 1 ohm load. Got amp wired up and turned the system on, hear the subs go thump and the amp goes into protect. Disconnect everything but +,-, and remote, and it still goes into protect. It powers up for a second, goes into protect, cooling fan still runs(don't know if that means anything). I used a DMM and it's getting 14 volts at the terminals. Hooked my subs up to the back channels of my four channel amp, and they work fine. Any suggestions from you guys? Just send it back or is there any thing I can mess with?

Recheck your sub wiring. It should be wired in parallel. And only one set of terminals should be used ( one negative one positive)

In the manual it shows that you can hook up a 2 ohm load to each set of terminals, and thats what I did. DMM shows an ~2ohm load each sub. Still goes into protect with subs disconnected so I don't think it's the subs. Suns are fine on another amp.

if it has a warrenty and theres something wrong with it, why wouldnt you send it back?

Sometimes people don't want to wait and will have it fixed locally. I did at my last base, but don't know a cheap local amp repair guy here.

You can use both terminals, The Nine.1 is a monoblock. Those 4 terminals (2 pos. 2 neg) are just for convience that way you arent shoving an *** load of speaker wire into 1 pair of terminals. Sounds like a bad amp.

I'm almost positive the amp is bad. I just wanted to see if anyone here had any input on other things I could rule out before I send it back. This is my first time dealing with a monoblock amp. I'm just pissed because this thing has been sitting for a couple months while I slowly worked on the install when I could, waited for other parts, power cable, etc. And now I get to the final step and the **** thing doesn't work. AAAARRRGGHHH!

make sure your ground connection is good

Checked it with a DMM, and it's good. Other amp is connected to the same ground, and has no problems.

Your amp is definatly a sick puppy.
