I'm trying to order everything ill need to hook up an amp in a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. I know of course, power and ground wire, fuse holder, rca and remote, but will i need a "line out converter", and if so ive never hooked one up hows that work?

im just doing a small sub and amp in a sealed box on a budget. Maybe an entry ID 10" off of a profile or cadence amp.

yes. you'll need a line out converter. You tap the line out converter into your rear speakers in order to get the signal for the amp.

as stated above....Tap into the rear speakers BEHIND the oem deck
not necessarily. I don't know off the top of my head, but if you're vehicle is factory amplified, you're gonna want to tap in anypoint AFTER the amp, or the signal will be extremely weak.

anyone know if the 2003 silverado HD has a factory amplifier?

Some do have a factory amp .....some dont..Do you have the bose premium package? If so you have an amp.The amp harness will be located in the center console, standard GM colred wires.
