Honda Prelude. Should i get one?

buy a mazda 3 speed.

preludes have week internal engine components compared to what they should have. the civic/accord/prelude generally use the same materials.

If you want a 'nice, fast' car, and you for some unknown reason refuse to buy a mazda, go for an acura. Acura is made by honda, but they use stronger internal parts.

GTFO.... a K20 is a K20.

Toyota/Lexus maybe.

Supra. Non turbos are cheap. then build it as you see fit.

Theres one around MD that is street legal 3500 Lb car and on stock rear end and stock ***** and stock block and such runs a 7 something at 177 MPH. And he drives it to and from the track. Just a thought if you like fast.

first off. im white. in answer to your above post douchebag.
second. give me a good reason why a prelude is a "POS" and ill reconsider.

i happen to know that honda makes a very nice engine and a very goo d reliable car.
the H series engines are notorious for problems, out of the other honda engines

MAZDASPEED 3:rolleyes:

if ur gona get 1 make sure its a h22 the f23's are junk when it comes to lasting... they do have a little more room to add power( not as high compression) but not enough to compensate for the rilly high compression of the h22... if ur gona turbo it u mise well get a civic but if u wana get a descently fast( when i say that i mean pritty fast car) car that is realiable with the VTEC lol get the prelude and it can be pritty mean with a exhaust and an intake.( tune it and ur set)

ps: if ur gona turbo a h22 u need low compression pistions because this motor is high compression its bad and hard on it to turbo it.

ms6/3( mazda speed 6/3 are both fast little burgers... but expesive compared to a honda lol) 6 is more my style ... not into the hatchback look...

also if u want an ion redline( 2.0 supercharged) k&n intake, 79 lbs injectors, ported supercharger/throttle body, header dp 3 in to 2.5 magnaflow exhaust, 2.8 pully and hub setup( 16-18lbs or so boost)( also have a 2.6 to put on soon), methanol water injection, b&m short throw shifter, tuned, cobaltaddiction front mount intercooler/heat exchanger, right around 290-300 now and with the 2.6 i hope to hit around 310-325 ish... its a fast little pice of tuperware but i am lookin for all wheel drive now and wana get rid of it if i can get a descent offer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

civic would be si trim. thats what i was looking at.
m3thod. just gtfo.

I get 41 mpg in my mazda protege //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

your mileage depends on how you drive.

If you drive 50 mph just to end up stopping at a red light, then your retarded. You could have took your foot off the gas, coasted to the light, and accelerated again when it turned green.

I, for the most part, barely come to a stop when I drive. I rarely use the brakes, and I ignore stop signs (unless my radar detector goes off).

If you leave the car in gear and take your foot off the gas, the engine cuts the fuel/air ratio and uses the motion of the wheels to turn the engine.

Look up hyper mileing.

don't get a civic. it blows on mileage.i have an 03 civic.

i drove my civic from houston to san antonion, approx 3 hours

and my friend followed me and took his mustang.

i was driving 60-65 speed limit the whole way and i also took the sam houston toll way, so i had a super short cut

and my friend in the mustang didn't have EZ tag so he had to take the long way, and so he went 110 on the freeway to catch up to me.

we arrived at san antonio.

he had under half a tank left,

and i have under a quarter :\

my friends civic is bad with mileage as well :\

maybe it's all the older models??
Don't forget that the tank in that Mustang is probably double the size of yours. If any Mustang (I don't consider the 4 cyl or V6 model a real Mustang) ever got better mpg than a Civic, I'd be a little worried, or there's something seriously wrong with the Honda.

it is, but not by much i dont think..

it is a v6, it is no GT. but still. i was only cruising.. and he had to do almost double to catch up to me. he floored it the whole way..

i honestly do think something is wrong with my honda..

note, he had a full trunk full of bags and clothes and luggage, full trunk and full back seat and a passenger, i only had 2 bags in my trunk and one passenger, and an open back seat.

Ouch. Even the V6 gets shitty mileage. I've got a buddy with a '95 with the 3.8 and he barely gets better mileage than I do with a 350 and a heavy foot.

Do a full tune up, plugs, wires, fuel filter, throw a CAI on it and run a good injector cleaner through it.

i'll try. lol

is it possible that bass systems have an affect in car's a mileage?
