honda element rebuild.. need help

Hey everyone I'm new to the site and have been reading allot of post trying to compile as much info as I can but just seem to get overwhelmed every time. I figure its time to ask for some help. Previously I had a kicker zx 2500 pushing my solo x 12"running on 4ohms running as my daily and fried the voice coil last month. Now I would like to build a system with my zx2500. I was looking for a 12" or 2. I want something a little more than the local stores around here offer. But Im open to any suggestions. I have enough room for 6 cubic ft. mostly listening to hiphop. Im also looking for a high output alternator wich brands I should look for and how many amps I should shoot for. Thanks

i wrote to a company and they told me i should have 70amps per 1000 watts for alt.

Would that be on top of the factory output? So if I'm gonna run about 3000 watts "200 amps" + 100 factory mean i should be trying to look for a 300 amp alt?

You would be okay with a 200 amp alternator for the system you described but, you also need to consider batteries. Along with the alternator rule of thumb there is a battery rule of thumb that says you need about 55 AH of battery per 1 kW. You Element probably has a 50-60 AH battery in it now so you're a bit low there if you plan to run the amp you have at 2Ω in the new setup and actually get some power out of it.

Also, did you have a Solo x or a Solo Baric? There's a remarkable difference in the two and if you burned a Solo X up on 1250 watts, there's a real problem there and you certainly don't want to repeat that problem in the new setup.

Yeah I had a solo x I think I destroyed it back when I had it in my truck box and the sub would rub against the back of my seats rubbed half of the coil away so it was on its way out had it for a few years as my daily and ran th db to high. But im gonna do it right this time.

So I ordered the sundown x12s today petty excited. Next I'm gonna build the box. looking around for the box building guy need some help building the perfect enclosure don't want to mess it up. If anyone could recommend who to ask for help would be appreciated.
