Home theater receiver in a car?

Besides not having enough room for a bulking piece of equipment, has anyone done it in a car or a SUV? I know they use them for RV campers and tour buses that has built-in DC/AC inverters so I guess they can handle the extreme cold and hot in an automotive environment.

It would be nice to have a PS3 mini as the source and a 5 or 7 channel surround sound receiver with HDMI going to a flipdown 24 inch LCD TV and call that your car stereo. You'll still wire up the sub amp and subs normally but a high-power 5 or 7 channel headunit with a separate on-screen display monitor and more audio options than you'll need should be pretty awesome.
