Home mids and tweets for mobile use?

Aight, had some Cerwin Vega AT-12 tower speaker cabinets laying around w/o the woofers and was wondering if I could use the mids and tweets in my jeep. Pretty beefy tweeters, not sure of the composition but they're soft domes. Mids look decent as well. They always used to sound good when they were used. Mid is 8 ohm and tweeter is 8 ohm as well. When they're hooked up to the cross over in the cabinet a can't get a reading of impedance (probably user error) but i wish i could find out what the final impedance is when using the crossover because if it's 16 ohms or something I could just get another cross over like the Dayton Audio XO2W-4.5K right? And have a 8 ohm impedance? Or what if I wired them in mono? Anyway, just wondering if i could use these to save money in the future. Thoughts?
