What would a good home audio sub be?

It need to handle 280w @8 ohm or 400 @ 4 ohm

i was thinking a JL 12w3v2 or infinity perfect 10

any other ideas are welcomed (i really want a good sql mix)

Thinking the exact same thing. I have 1 shiva in my home setup run off a 350w plate amp in a 5cu ft enclosure tuned to 16Hz. It has great articulation and a very very nice low end. :thumbsup

Looking for a 10" for a sealed home DIY system myself. Seems like any affordable speaker I can find rolls off at about 46 Hz according to WinISD. Wonder why that is?
