Couple of questions. I have turntables hooked to a mixer and out to some self amped computer 2.1 speakers. Works pretty well as I don't really turn it up too loud in the house. Craving some more power and better sound though.
I happen to have a 6.5 rsd component set laying around and was thinking of buying a used 8" jl d4 sub. Would I be able to use these in a home audio application? If so, what would I need for amps? Dedicated amps or would a receiver work? All the receivers I saw on partsexpress didn't have a subwoofer output and I'm guessing the sub would require more power.
Is it just easier to get HT oriented speakers? Either way, what's common practice for amping?
