hole in dust cover........is there a fix???

i bought a used RE XXX 15 from someone on ebay, and i think he's a member of these site's, but anyway, there's a hole in the dust cover about the size of a quarter right where the "XXX" is.....there's also a hole right underneath the 1st hole in the next layer of plastic, so i can actually see all the way down to the magnet!! He told me about the top hole, but never about the other one.

He "guaranteed" that this wouldnt affect the sound at all, but i'm skeptical, and have no way of testing it until next weex.

i contacted RE AUDIO about a fix, w/ no response yet. I wanted to know if you peeps know a link/person who i can get a replacement cover or fix for the hole?? I was told tape.......but thats ****ing ugly. Worst case, i can get a XXX RE AUDIO sticker and cover it, if someone knows where i can get one at.

well, my camera isnt around right now, but here's the link to the ebay auction I won. I know he's a member on these sites, because after I paid for this, i started going to these sites, and saw him trying to sell it on the sites.....

he says the hole isnt a problem, but I cant see it NOT being a problem. I just cant check the sub out until the end of next week, and I am worried he's gonna try to say I screwed something up. WTF

In the auction description, he says the sub works perfect, GUARANTEED, so I think I'd be covered....no?

Another thing.....the box it was shipped in looked like a basketball, it was sooo round, and the magnet edges have small chips in them, I guess from being manhandled too rough during shipping.

Are the holes just in the dustcover? It should be just fine, you can cover it with whatever you want. Don't contact RE lol, best bet for a replacement is FIcaraudio

there are a few company's that can get you a dust cap for cheaper then re....fi, audioque, etc

The hole is fine. Does not effect it at all..

He said the a hole was punched in the cone as well as the dust cap. In that case you will need a recone. You can try to patch the hole yourself. You are going to need to use lightweight glue.
