Good evening.

I have a 97 Grand cherokee 5.2 v8. After doing research and asking some questions on the forum about caps and batcaps i realized to solve the lack of power problem from where it starts. I figured i would just buy a Hight output alternator. My question is, are they hard to install, and what ones would you recomend.

thank you very much for your time, and happy holidays.

Derek.

thanks for the link, but i see no prices on that page.

i would probably have my local shop install it, just so i dont mess it up.

thanks.

ill probably try to get the mean green high output alt...

is that too much for my car? will it fry some of the electronics?

last time i checked (if im wrong, someone correct me) but there is no problem having a high output alternator. my dad told me you could fry stuff with a huge amperage alternator, but i know he cant tell an engine from some fresh dog crap laying in the yard so i figured i'd look it up myself. Asked experienced people and such. They all have said it can only help you. That the alternator is capable of putting out that much amperage but only uses what is needed. But you would have to upgrade the wire from the Alternators post to the batter post i believe. If im not mistaken, its part of the "BIG 3" upgrade. I havent installed my alternator yet due to no system installed at the moment. But as i said, anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong
