HO alt or Rear Batt.

Hey guys, My alt in my car recently went out and I am in a dilemma now as to what I should do.

My stock alt is 120 amps, and it would be ~150-180 to replace it.

A rear batt would be about ~180, for say a kinetik1800.

I'm gonna be running the setup in my sig, and soon a front stage, probably a kicker zx350.2

What should I do, HO alt from nate for $310+ship.

or new stock amp, + rear batt?

extra battery = temporary fix, will help, but sometimes will cause extra stress on your stock alt.

ho alt = permanent fix, but you need extra capacity, aka another battery.

do both.

You would probably be ok with just the stock alt. and a second battery, but if you ever plan on upgrading in the future to more power you might want to just go ahead and get the HO alt now. Since you'll spend about the same amount of $$ for either option I would just get the HO alt, you'll benefit more from the alt.

do both.

i would do this making sure to isolate the two batteries. Keeps your car happy that you have separated what your amps use to what the car needs, and you have the charging ability for the current draw required.

if you play your system at full tilt all the time, you'll eventually need to do both. if you're only into showing it off for a short time either would work (but I'd do the alt instead of the battery)
