HO Alt for a VW?

anyone know where I can find a HO alt for my VW GLI? it's a 2006 with the 2.0T engine. I am guessing it is going to be expensive since it's a VW, but I can't find anything.

It will have to be custom wound. I had the same problem with my KIA. Do a search in the forums and decide for yourself who to go with. Seems like every company that makes custom alts has their faults.

Hey pat, what size alt you looking for? It looks like yours comes with a 140 amp...

yeah, i think it's 140 or 150. but lately my interior lights have been dimming and i'm only running 1k watts. when i add the comp amp, it can only get worse.

i'm looking for anything bigger, maybe 200 amp?

The GLI/GTI's have a 120a alternator. Im running an Orion 8004 and noticed a small amount of dimming, im thinking of doing the big3 next.

that's why im debating even ripping into my GTI. i'd like to do something small (500 watts all together) and pray for no dimming. good luck
