HK 4000d MA Audio

I recieved this amp on trade not knowin it was only 2ohm stable. I need power at 1ohm so I must sell or trade. It works well at 14.4v up to 17v. I know this to be an unmolested compitition amplifier as many world records broke during their glory yrs. I would love to keep it but I cannot justify buyin another round of subs to acheive the correct load.

Has many nicks and scratches and the negative speaker screw has stripped(still functional but should be rethreaded) Bangs like crazy with gobs of power but does not like low impedance loads(below2ohm)

If you have strong electrical and can keep your voltage up, these will drive low impedence.

I thought they where good for 0.5ohm, my old hk401sx was?

yea i had this one and the hk 401sx there .5 ohm stable on good electrical power hungry but they produce.

I have 2 2oo amp gm "police" alternators and 3 batts. Volts never dropped below 12.5. Now i know that is serious drop considering no other amp has pulled current like tis one in this truck. would play songs like hypnotize fine but fast punchy bass or a fast solid slam sends it into protect at one ohm on 4 re sx 12s.

just mod it. theres a tutorial online. itll make it run 1 ohm easy as piiiieee. mine did

I know and now thats its out i will be cleanin the gut and I will lokk to find the nessisary resistors for the "protection mod". I have the tutorial saved and may attempt but just leary of the life span at 1ohm in a dailly banger. Howd urs like low loads and was it a dailly or weeken/comp set up?

daily. i wouldnt go less than 1 ohm on it but it does fine if your electrical is right

I have 2 200 amp alt and 3 batts but still had drops into the 12v range althought never below 12.5. This thing is a pig! I put my mmats D100hc in its place(less power, I know) but the drain is a whole lot easier on electricals.

We ran a modded one @ .75 on two custom power hx2 15 d1.5's daily and it worked quite well. I burped a modded one @ .5, no problems there. It was one of Bob Perillo's from his old setup iirc, so it may have had more mods done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif idfk. Power hungry, powerful amps.

I also have 4 power hx2 12d2 that I will be listing. 3 play well on low power and one cut open for recone. All should be reconed tho as they are soft and tend to over excurse.
