Hit a 143.3 with 4 E8 Sundowns

those are some mean *** little subs, my buddy wants to do a build with 4 of them in a ranger.

Yesterday someone said my score would've been higher if the port was firing forward, anyone have any info. on that? I have no experience with either of the topics but i have an ext cab truck aswell about the same as yours and ive been told this aswell, that forward firing gives better scores. Also ive heard that outlaw scores are higher but i have no idea wut any of it means..just wut ive heard.

Some cars are louder outlaw style and some are not. My ranger is anywhere from 3-5db louder outlaw vs. sealed up, depending where the mic is. But I've also seen vehicles that are quiter and also some that are the exact same. A lot of people who have no clue what they're talking about offer advice so don't believe what everyone says.

i don't have a nissan, but my extended cab s10 is best downfiring sub/port, or forward firing sub/port. firing up was the worst configuration in my truck. i didn't try back.

Not sure on the meter but my truck was louder to the ear with the sub facing up than facing forwards. Port facing the side in both boxes

hes kinda scared to do it though because he doesnt know what to expect from 8's, neither of us have ever heard any, its either that or he goes with 2 re se 10's. i am very curious to see what enough 8's can do though

i'm running a single jl 8w6 now, at least until somebody buys it. sounds good and gets low. 8's surprise people if done right.

Really? Man guess I'll have to build a box and have port firing forward and see how it sounds, I personally love the response the subs get from what they are now (subs/port up) but I'm always willing to try something different.

hmm, what would sound more clean? 2 10's or 4 8's if done in the right boxes? or is it not really comparable?

not usually, but if hes serious about trying it we could come up and check it out, just to see what they are capable of, it would be easier than buying them and being let down.
