Application - installing RaaMmatt on underside of hood = close to engine

Car- Honda Civic

Will this be safe?

will it melt?

Specifications

Adhesive/Damping Layer Butyl

Total Thickness 60 mil

Temperature Rating Guaranteed to 300°F

Constraining Layer 2 mil aluminum coated both sides with polyethelene

lbs /ft² .35

"RAAMmat BXT has been tested at temperatures of more than 300 deg F. There are products with a higher published rating, but in order to increase temperature tolerance, you sacrifice flexibility and adhesion. If you car is exposed to temperatures in excess off 300 deg, you have bigger problems than how well your sound deadener sticks. "

sure there are other products made for this application - but hey i have extra RaaMmatt so why not use this if it works and just do a few layers - ha ha
