High School Class Rings

Alright so im a junior in high school this year and balfour the class ring folks came to our school today....i found this really nice class ring I wanted for about 445 bucks...thats with 12 CZ's around the birthstones..the diamonds are like 1000 lol way too much for a class ring...anyways i was wonderin from the ones who's outta high school which is most of the people on here, do yall still got your rings or wear em? ive been hearin spendin alot of money on a class ring is stupid...what do yall think

I spent like $3xx for it. My parents bought it for me, actually. I wore it for about a year then stopped wearing it. My g/f has it now but she doesn't wear it at all.

I was in the '90-'91 school year graduating class from high school. Got a senior ring. Still have it. Occassionally wear it still.

All of the high schools here use a class ring manufacturer by the name of Jostens. While their products are nice the pricing could use some fairly serious adjustment. My dad is good friends with a fella who happens to own a jewelry store and through him I was introduced to another class ring company by the name of ArtCarved. Exact same (if not better) quality-wise than Jostens and the pricing was waaaayyy better. The ring I wanted with the options I preferred through Jostens (10k yellow gold, genuine emerald for the stone, various optional side decoration, etc) would have run me close to $400 back in '91. The same ring, essentially, with the same layout, options, etc, lifetime warranty and all through ArtCarved hit me just under $200. I'd imagine they have a website... yep... http://www.artcarved.com ... have a look and see if they might can beat the price you're looking at.

I didn't get one in HS. I am going to get a college one though. There are occupational/networking reasons behind it though.

Somebody stole mine while i was in weightlifting last year. It cost $398 to buy it and it will cost me another $100 to get it replaced. I hate a thief

i dun understand the point of a class ring. i mean its just highschool. SOme of the most memorable times in your life, yet the stupidest waste of time ever to hit the planet.

wow really a HIGH SCHOOL ring. im not trying to offend anyone who didnt go to college but thats kinda lame. if you go to college wearing it you look like a ***. HIGH SCHOOL come on its college where it counts. i am not trying to offend anyone.

I bought the overpriced ring, wore it in high school, then gave it to my now ex-girlfriend. Honestly, they are way overpriced, and no one respects them when you leave high school. If you saw a 30 year old guy wearing his high school ring, what would you think? You think that his biggest accomplishment in the last twelve years was graduating from a lower educational institution.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have said screw it. There are so many better things I could have done with $300+ than buy jewelry with it. Not to mention, look up class rings on ebay if you want to see how fast they depreciate.
