Has anyone ever installed a HO alt on one of these. I believe the parts are interchangeable with a Dodge Intrepid of the same year as well. I googled around and they all say that 130 amp is the biggest which is stock. I am sure someone has done this by now. I know the new chargers and 300cs have them, but I think they are only for the hemis and not the 3.5

Gonna bum my old *** thread instead of starting a new one about the same thing.

I ended up getting one from Mechman. My mechanic could not get it to fit though. The casing is not lining up with the stock location or something he said. I understand it's bigger, but he said it's something with the bottom bolt. If anyone out there had made one of these fit my car, please let me know. I was gonna maybe take it to Pepboys if all else fails and see what they can do. I'd rather not, but I want the thing installed. I plan to start my build log tomorrow. I have a few pics of equipment you've seen a million times, so I'll spare you that for now. But any help on the alt if anyone has installed one on a 3.5 v6 chrysler. i guess the LHS and the 3.5 intrepis are the same as well.

did you ask Matt?

It was too late in the day. We got done trying at 7. I was gonna go out to Mike's house tomorrow and see if he could take a look too. I may try that support line tomorrow too.

Took it to Mike's chop shop. He rigged up an aluminum bracket for the bottom as well as did some other stuff to make it work. It took a bunch of spacers and a lot of trial and error but it's on and it survived the hour plus ride back home.

APOLOGIZE JOKER!!!!!!

The alt sat too far back on the engine, so the belt wouldn't line up and walked forward partially off the pulley.

Had to move it 1/2" forward and make a bracket to connect the bottom hole on the alt to the factory mounting point.
