Hi all as the title says, I have an AMP with high level inputs, as my OEM Navigation unit does not have any preouts.

I know I need to tap into the original speaker cable, but there is a 5th wire on the harneses supplied with the amp. I assume its a ground.

I have no Idea what cable is what though. I took a photo of the cables in the hope that someone can tell me which is the ground, positive and negative connections.

Please feel free to copy the image and "draw" on it labels as to which cable is which.

Also any suggestions for my remote lead would be much appreciated

here is the culprit harness's One is for channel 1 and 2 the other for 3 and 4.

we need to know the amp. that is specific to the amp - and the manual should tell you.

typically, left to right (in your pic) it's (+) (-) GND (+) (-)

if you mix up polarity, it will end up cancelling out when you play the sub. you can reverse either polarity to verify without hurting anything.

you can also use a DMM to probe the wires when the harness is installed. measure resistance to the amp ground.

Hi its a basic amp, the Auna AB-450

I have the manual, but there is nothing in there about the wiring.

I thought maybe it would be: + - G + -

But then I thought looking at the wire, It maybe G + - + - i.e the wire with the writing could possibly be the ground.

I've no idea what those markings could mean. Only suggestion I have is to take an ohmmeter to each wire and test for continuity to the ground on the amp. With modern bridged speaker lines you don't need or want the ground. The other wires you could experiment with and not damage anything. Good luck.
