i agree. i have still get nightmares in my sleep over that brutus. i guess they couldn't be worse then stock

 
I used to have pair of hifonics comp subs, (back in 1998) they would bow the trunk in my 1984 cutlass supreme, also bow out the back window. But dunno about there new products you know how speaker companies change owner ship thus quality..

 
I used to own a set of the Hifonics Zeus Components. They were pretty good actually, Sound quality was very good, the midbass was smooth, and the tweeter was good as well. I was pretty impressed. I just heard a set of DLS's and they were pretty on par with those SQ-wise.

Pull it and test it at the battery post. Simple Power up test to verify if it powers up fine out of protect mode. if it does then Id be checking...

COMPLETED Hifonics Plato III
Yes, they are painted. The cover is very easy to take off and repaint to whatever color of choice to match the install.
