Hifonics vs. Power Acoustik

sorry i have trouble understanding this electronics stuff atm.

If i had the 608 wired at 4-ohm it would put a lot less stress on it than if it was at 1-ohm right? but it would only put out 100-200w. would that be enough to pound my subs or should i buy the 1206 and run that at 4-ohm

100-200 wouldn't be any fun at all. The P2's just wouldn't give you much. You'd definitely want to run the 608 at 1 ohm.

The 1206d in good shape for $100 is a great deal though, and it's not a bad amp. 4 ohms would work, but personally I'd run it at 1 with the gain way down.

i wouldnt waste my money on either, better off buying something it the classified on here. you can get a nice 2ch or mono class d for the 130 range.

not good, they are just budget amps.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

no problem, just would not spend that much money on those, you can get a much better amp in the classifieds for the money. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

18LO, I think you'd find a LOT of people who would disagree with old school's opinion of the Brutus amps.

They are regarded by many not only as GOOD budget amps, but possibly the best combination of power/price/quality you'll find.

No, they're not the greatest, but for $100 I would like to know what will come close.

would a Bxi-1206d be able to handle running at 1-ohm? i'd really like to have it at 2-ohm, but i don't have enough money to buy a new set of subs.

4-ohm or 1-ohm?

you only need 500w, why not just get a nice 2ch and bridge it? maybe pick up a nice os amp and use that and when your done at least you will get your money back and maybe more. you could also use it to run your highs when you decide to upgrade your sub stage.

i'm an 18 year old just finishing up high school and then going off to college. i don't have the extra money to get a nice system. just subs. and i only need an amp for my subs, my car already has an amp for my speakers.
