Hifonics vs Cadence

I would like some feedback from the masses and hopefully someone who has had some experience with Cadence amplifiers, old school and/or new. I currently have a Hifonics ZRX 500.2 and I love the sound quality from Hifonics products. I want to upgrade wattage and I have a chance to buy a refurbished Cadence Z5000 1500 watt amp that has been refurbished for a decent price. Is the quality from a Cadence comparable or should I stick to Hifonics for my amplifiers?

Some old school Cadence amps are awesome - like my DCA 2500.1, I know the newer ones are no where near what I'm running but I'd still take a Cadence over a Hifonics any day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Seriously contemplating the Cadence Z5000. Ive heard a lot of good and scarcely any bad. My main concern is that the amplifier has no fuses. Is that characteristic of old school amps? I cant say I have any experience with them.

My amp doesn't have fuses either - A LOT of the bigger oldschool as well as even new amps don't run on board fusing, especially if they are pulling over 120+ amps or so of current, not a big deal at all, you just run an in-line fuse close to the amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

that's a nice amp the cadence that is. I ran a newer cadence amp n had no issues with it besides it not being more power for the cadence 8s I was running. mismatch on my part. really like their zrs line of amps but both times I went to buy one they were sold out. overall I was satisfied with my cadence. I've had experience with hifonics as well which I blew both amps I had.

Personally not a big fan of any of the Power Acoustik amps so Ill stay away from BAMF.. but Audiopipe is a brand Ive heard little about. And yes naughtyca, that is the one I have been peeking at. Never seen an Audiopipe in a clamp test, tho I know Cadence is well known for way underating thier products. This will be hooked up to a single subwoofer wired down to 2 ohms. Specs on the Cadence is 750 watts at 2 ohm (supposedly) and the aspm 2000 is aprox 1400 at 2, tho I would have to run larger wire for the bigger amp. Opinions from others, Audiopipe ASPM 2000 (165) or the refurbished Cadence Z5000 ($160)?
