Hifonics products?

Whats the consensus on Hifonics? On here ive seen them mentioned in the same breath as xplod, boss and pyle, but ive heard other places say they're quality. I hadnt considered them until I ran into a guy pushing two 18s off an olympus amp. told me he was over 150db, but I have no idea if he was full of **** or not, but it definitely sounded pretty good. Now though im considering getting two 15" dual 2ohm olympus subs rated 1600W RMS a piece, with an olympus amp pushing 1600W at 1 ohm on two channels. But I ran a boss amp about a year ago, and if hifonics numbers are as far off as Boss's are, its really not worth it.

Anyone have any input?

I did search actually, and found a bunch of threads about specific hifonics products, but I'm more asking about opinions of the brand as a whole, if that makes sense. Theres lots of Hifonics products I've looked at, some of them seem to be the same as alot of budget brands. Anytime you're expecting to get 1000+ watts for 100-200 dollars, you asking for problems. But some of the products seem to be priced for quality. Maybe the products are all quality and they just have good prices, maybe its all crap and you'd pay alot for whats not really worth it, I don't know. Thats why I'm here asking y'know?

Hifonics does rated on a good electrical.

Maybe not quality, but you'll get an unclipped signal out of it for it's rated power, on a 14.4v solid electrical system.

If you're not pushing a good electrical system, then don't except full power, but it'll still get a good amount out of it.

Sometimes I've had problems with them - they don't take abuse as well as other, higher quality, amps. If you avoid any user error though, you won't see any problems.

the brand has 3 different major amp badges. figure out which badge you want to pursue then go from there

hifonics dont ****, their just not the best quality.. but great for budget set ups

i've used many hifonics products both old and new and all have never failed me.

They are quality amps IMO. Sure there is better out there, but if you don't abuse them they'll last you a while.
