Hifonics Hfi12's. Work well in 2 subes or LESS??

Im thinking of doing 12-16 hifonics HFI 12's

Its quite a squeeze to fit 16 of them though.

I have 3500@ 1ohm on tap (can wire lower), Ive used these subs in 2.5 before and had good results, but they got mega stinky.

I was hoping to keep them in 1.8ish cubes each with small port area (probably right on 8sq/in per cube)

What do you guys think.

2.5 each to 12

1.8 each to 16

well either way i bet they wont change much in SPL numbers.

I've got a pair with 1.8-1.9 cubes each, tuned to 45 (my first box build, absolute ****), I couldn't get them to not stink, but I didn't really try that hard.

This isnt a number vehicle. Will never see a meter. Just a cheap fun build.

I just wanna know if Im really gonna starve them in 1.9 or if they come alive @ 2.5 or something
