hifonics bxi at .5ohm?

because its the 1606..

No specific reason but i know there not the most stable under 1 ohm.

He might be running it at .5 but the amp is most likely seeing higher due to imp rise.

I ran my bxi2006d at 1 ohm and it never got hot. but haven't tried .5

the bxi2607d can do it kinda. i wouldnt though.

i am actually putting 2 bxi1606d's from 2 ohms to half an ohm today so i will tell you how it goes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Having no experience with hifonics, but knowing the brutus series are their lowest line, i would not play with it too much. Its basically just going to wear your amplifier quicker, if your lucky. If your not so lucky, you might smoke it.. but most likely it will just cut its life wayyy down.

my bxi2607d at 1ohm, never got hot, never got warm at that matter, but it was only set around 2000RMS

if you were careful with it, i bet it could be pulled off, but definately dont get gain-knob happy

as far as ive heard the 2607 is similar to the old xx-herc, which handled .5 no problem, HOWEVER, i still wouldnt trust it daily unless its been benched and provne to handle the load without frying.

it depends on the setup. last summer i ran my bxi2607d's at .5 ohms daily
