Hifonics Bxi 2006D .5ohm?

last guy that ran a collasus(sp?) at .5 went into permanent protect mode. I think that tells me dont play with loweer than 1ohm unless your prepared to eat the cost of the amp.
he played it .5ohms bridged, when the amp is only stable at 2ohms.....

whether you believe me about the bxi running at .33, is up to you..... But i had experience with both of those amps ( the bxi1606 or the bxi2006) and i am pretty sure people on ROE will tell you that they run their bxi perfectly fine at .5! Some will tell you don't do it, but they have no experience with those amps..... a .5 nominal load is actually nothing because impedence rise is a huge factor in determining what the amp sees.

You can burp a BXI2006D at .5 ohm, but I wouldn't do it for daily use. I've burped my at .5 several times with no problems. I know of someone who runs a XX Colossus at .5 ohm daily - I've seen the setup. He's a well respected poster - maybe he'll stop by this thread.

Congrats, you're running it at .33 ohms, however the second you run music through it you're turning resistance into impedance...

Yep, at the amplifiers. I get the same 14.7 volt reading when they cutoff too.

Yes, they are painted. The cover is very easy to take off and repaint to whatever color of choice to match the install.
