Hey, yeah I know, another settings/tuning question thread. Thing is, I tried very hard to understand the amplifier and gain settings pinned threads, but it was difficult to understand, specifically tuning the Subsonic and the Low Pass Frequency.
I have everything hooked up and running great. I have a 2.5cu.ft., 32 hz single 12" subwoofer enclosure/box, in it is a single 12" Alpine Type-R subwoofer. Keep in mind all this is wired to my Hifonics BXi 1606D mono amplifier at 2 ohms (1,100 watts RMS).
Here is my specs of everything:
Stock 90 Amp Alternator
Stock Battery
4-Gauge KnuKonceptz Wiring
H.U. 2 Volt RCA Output
Plays at 35 Volume out of 46-47 ish.
Slight dimming on lights at 35 Volume.
No Big 3 wiring yet.
Now, all my settings on the H.U. are set to 0, no loudness, no Bass Boost/Amp hookup.
I REALLY need your help on where to set everything. I tested it out with some 'good' guesstimates at where they should be.
Here is where I have everything set up at:
Level: Around 1-3 Volts (.2v - 9v) [its hard to find an exact number, since its not listed]
Phase: 0 (0-180' degrees)
Subsonic: 10-20% (15Hz - 50 Hz) [Need help on this one please!]
Low Pass: 50% (35Hz - 250Hz) [Need serious help on this one too, as it goes closer to 250Hz, it gets louder]
Bass Eq.: 50% (0 - 18db) [Again, a serious tuning I need help with.]
Can anyone PLEASE tell me if somethings serious wrong with what/where I have my tuning at right now. I know we should keep the gain under 50%, but Im wanting more bass.
So basically I just need a really good answer on where I should set everything. I did my best to help you with everything I have going on, and what I have. I do have a DMM, and me and a friend did our best to set everything right on the gains (at speaker terminals) and we just could not figure out for the life of us why the numbers werent really increasing/decreasing on the speaker terminals when Im changing the gain, or at least thats what I remember. Its possible we were doing it wrong, but we tried everything, this is our second time setting up a system.
SO once again, I need help mainly on the gain, subsonic, and low pass frequency range.
