Hifonics BX2005D amp question??

I bought this amp a few days back to replace my old JBL. I have it powering 2 L5's 15's, I had to turn the gain way higher on this amp then my old JBL. I mean is a 2000w at 1ohm, I know it isn't putting out that much but at least 1500w which is more than my JBL 1200.1 was putting out I assume. The L5's are 4 ohms wired to 1 ohm, but I don't think the amp is putting out that much, maybe I wired something wrong. Any help woud be helpful thanks.

if u have a DMM u can measure the resistance of the subs wire together right now. Otherwise I cant really tell if u wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohm without seeing the actual wiring.

and im assuming both ur subs are Dual 4 ohms. make sure ur wiring looks like this

I have the same problem. I have the 1606 amp, and to even make a dent in the volume it has to be about 2/3's the way up. I think that Hifonics just used a lower input sensitivity than some other brands of amps.

maybe the Hz isnt set right. Turn the frequency higher to around 60 and see what happened. if not then adjust the gain.

i have a brand new autotek amp which is made by maxsonics and it does the same thing. i am thinking about getting an external 7 band eq so i can crank the bass up more with that

same for th bx1500d, if the gains down low, so is the volume, tweaking the freq is just minimal help for some reason
