Hifonics and jbl subs

I have an Hfi1500d amp, and two JBL GTO1214d sub's. The sub's are 4 ohm dual voice coils and I have them wired 2 ohm each so on the amp it would be 1 ohm load. They are in a sealed box inside a Silverado. But to get any decent boom for the power the amp is supposed to have, I have to boost the amp and deck which I don't want to do. I've messed with all the settings on the amp and deck to no avail and even did the signal from RCA's adjustment with my fluke dv meter. I have the big 3 upgrade done on my truck with 2 gauge but the amp install kit I got was supposed to be a 4 gauge and says it is but its not. Its 6. Is that what is bottlenecking the system or do I just have to buy a different amp and 2/0 gauge wire? I Should wire it with a 2 ohm load though. The amplifier is supposed to have 1500rms at 1 ohm and 1000 at 2 ohm. subs are supposed to have 350rms and 1400 peak. Thanks for any of your help I appreciate it!

hfi amps are one of hifonic's junk amps. You are lucky to get 1000 watts at 1 ohm reactive load. Wired to 2 ohms, you might have box rise up to 4-6 ohms. That along with inadequate wire = next to zero power output.

So... Get 2 gauge for the amp too and buy a different amp?

Yeh thankfully I didn't spend a lot yet but I'll spend more to make it what it should be! Any recommendations on an amp for those jbls ?

hfi amps are one of hifonic's junk amps. You are lucky to get 1000 watts at 1 ohm reactive load. Wired to 2 ohms, you might have box rise up to 4-6 ohms. That along with inadequate wire = next to zero power output.

He is wire to 1ohm.

But OP can u post pic of your amp settins like how u have then set? And what CD player do u have?

Have you tried hooking up 1 sub at a time and seeing how it sounds?

Maybe you have the pair wired out of phase.

They are wiring just like that crutchfield picture i have on imgur, Except for the amp has 4 speaker terminals so I connected the subs together on the terminals instead of sub to sub and then sub to terminals like in the picture. Assuming of course that the amplifier being a mono that they have the 4 terminals on it just for ease of wiring.

cd player is x8500bh pioneer. cds work better but i use pandora and spotify a lot too.

What size/ enclosure are the woofers in? do they have enough airspace to "bring the boom" or are they squished in little boxes? Those woofers can move in the right enclosure.

They are in a down firing dual sub box sealed with .93 feet cubed per sub

Is your low pass filter close to 30? have it in the 12 oclock position.

Is the gain almost all the way up too?

Sometimes they go all the way up. And turn your low pass filter to around 80.
