Hifonics amp?

so i have slim wallet im going to power 1200 watts @2 ohms(kicker L5's) should i buy the hifonicsamp that is 1300 watts rms at 2 ohms or the amp that is at 1700 watts at 2 ohms, i dont wanna destory my subs so overpowering is bad and so is underpowering, or is there another amp about 350 dollars that doesnt sound like you fart in a box(sony)
