Hifonics amp problem

I just purchased a new BX1205D (yeah i know, overrated power and all) off of ebay.

I hook it up....install my new 880PRS, turn everything on and such.

The amp kicks on, deck works fine....but no bass. So i start to fiddle with the deck....RCA's are nice and tight...replace the cable to make sure they are good...still no change.

So i pick up the amp and it kicks on for an instant. After some handling i figure out that if i push on the bottom of the amp, the bass will come on and stay on. If i let go sometimes it will stay on for awhile....othertimes it will pop straight off. As in, the amp is staying on all the time, however it won't produce any sound unless there is force on the bottome of the amp.

Anybody know what might be the deal?

the bottom of tha amp isnt even close to the board so i would be checking remotes and grounds and what not.... does the amp come on and just not give any output or does it only come on when u press on the bottom.???? kinda need more specific info to narrow this problem down a bit

" As in, the amp is staying on all the time, however it won't produce any sound unless there is force on the bottom of the amp. "

Does that not explain it?

Anyway, i took the bottom cover off and pushed on the pcb board...dumb idea to do when on.....but yeah...pressure on the pcb board is making it produce sound. The amp is coming on, no problems there...lights and all.....but no sound.

And this is bullshit not being able to reply. Keeps telling me :

have you checked your settings on the deck? i got a 880prs installed 2nights ago... right after the install my system wasnt hitting... after about 10min of messing with the deck i found out the sub level on the deck was on -3db... turned it up to +4db and it hits perfectly fine now

might not be the same problem as mine but check the settings on your deck before returning the amp

I doubt that would be the problem since pushing on the board gives it sound.

But check it anyways //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Pushing on the bottom of the amp doesn't touch the pcb board....but it does however put pressure on the large resistors that are on the pcb board....

Now with the bottome off, any pressure to the board will make it produce sound, but pushing on the bottom plate pushes the tall black resistors and in turn pushes the pcb board.

Guess i will need to send it back in. Dammit.....
