I was gonna power my dual 2 ohm 15" Brahma with the Bxi1206D and was about to buy one until a buddy of mine mentioned something. But I don't know if he's right. The Brahma peaks somewhere in the 4000's so would it make sense to get the Hifonics Bxi2006D which pushes 2000 watts at one ohm and run my sub daily with the gains all the way down and when I wanna show it off I could turn the gains all the way up for a couple seconds? Does that make sense to do or even if I have my gains all the way down will my sub blow from too much power?

get the 2000w for several reasons

you have more head room with your power so the amp will run more efficently, keeping the signal cleaner. set your gains right so that for daily it'll slam at full excursion but still run efficently...worst thing you can do it over do the gain the voice coils melt. read up on setting gains

I know where to read up on setting gains properly, I read about it awhile ago you gotta use some sort of meter, so I'll figure that out. But for sure, if the gains are set properly the sub won't blow correct? I just realy wanna make sure before I drop the money so I won't be getting something that will affect my whole investment and ruin my sub.
