hifonics 1605, power punch 12s

i have a hifonics bxi1605d pushn 2 of the older 12in rockford power punchs at 1ohm and with the bass boost down all the way and it barely bumps and from what i've read everyone says keep the bass boost off. whats the deal i remeber my friend had one of these subs and it beat so hard i could barely breath

perhaps he used the bass boost....if it is anything like my 1606, the gains needed to be much higher than on any other amp Ive used.....but I set my gain by ear....

(ive never blown a speaker either)
