i just bought a set of hids and i tryed to hook them up nothing happened...... i was wondering if daytime running lights could cause them not to work?

You sure you chose the correct wires?

Hooked up the ballasts correctly, and not plug them in backwards?

Well, something is wrong.

Get out your DMM and read the voltage on your input wires with the lights on...

The DMM will tell you your answer. Some vehicles will need you to wire up a relay to amplify the input trigger enough for the input of the ballast... but usually in those cases... the light will work somewhat and flicker.

Something is wrong with the input wire (stock wires you chose), or the ballast...

Happened to me too I have a 97 chevy. The plug needs to be reversed in order for them to work. In other words the plug needs to be plugged in backwards. I dont know why but after I plugged it in backwards it worked perfectly. Give it a try.

yeah maybe.............. but i hooked it up with some jumper wires straight to the battery to see if it worked and it powered up fine....

Exactly what I suggested, the plug is backwards.
