Installing PAC-SWI PS

I am in need of some help when it comes to installing this. I understand the whole programming part of the install but i do not know how to install the pac in to my system. I am a completely new to installing electrical stuff in my car. I asked my shop how much it would cost to install this and they said 70 bucks! So now i am going to attempt to install it my self.

I started out today to try and disconnect the neg. on my battery and when i went to disconnect the wire sparks flew! Scared the crap out of me. So what exactly do i need to do to start out? Disconnect the neg. on battery? if so how do i safely do this?

Next where should i put the pac? glove box? and how do i go about installing the ground/power on the pac? Do i just strip the wires and intergrate it with my h/u install? and if i do this do i use electrical tape or something?

So if anyone body can help me please respond, as you can tell i know nothing about electrical installs.

Thanks,

Mike

Well, first things first. Disconnect the neg. battery terminal, the sparks are normal and not dangerous.

Installing that PAC-SWI PS is a different story for each vehicle. There should be a manual that came with it that tells you exactly which wires to cut, splice, etc. I can tell you this though. The red one and the black one need to connect with the other red ones and black ones.

Obviously that little 3.5mm jack needs to go into your HU.

Where did you buy the device from?
