Hey you evolutionists...

bunkerking, as I asked last night: Have you read the decision from Kitzmiler vs Dover?

And again...please provide a transcript or at least accurately summarize the arguments.

here we go again. why can't it just be if you believe good for u u believe. if you don't good for u u don't. So many people on both sides want to prove they are right and the other is wrong. When it comes down to it NEITHER SIDE CAN PROVE ANYTHING DEFINITIVELY that is why Christianity requires faith and science requires unprovable theories and constants

I have not

And i'm to tired/ in to much pain to type all of it out. Its pretty much saying that if any of over 30 physical laws were off by a fraction, there could be no life.

I am not a fan of ID. It seems like a plan to make straight religion more palatable to those who seek scientific truths.
There is nothing even remotely scientific about ID. ID thinks that if it disproves evolution, it will prove that god exists.

Let`s say you're an ID "scientist" and have been given a government grant to do a controlled study on anything of your choice. What is your hypothesis and how do you test it?

I believe there is great value in discussing my religious beliefs. I am oftentimes called out and questioned on weak beliefs which drives me to find more logically sound ones. It's not about proving, it's about exploring.

I didn't say there was. I said ID tries to appear scientific.

I recommend you do, because a lot of the arguments you`ve suggested were brought before a judge and found to be completely invalid.

There would be no life as we know it; there may be completely different forms of life other than what we anticipate. Or perhaps life would have developed much, much later. The beauty of being alive is that we know, by the anthropic principle, that no matter how improbable it is, we have fulfilled that improbability by the sheer fact that we exist. It in no way demonstrates that there is a god.

Shades of probability.

Religion (not god) is intentionally divisive. Also, believing in god (not religion) means willingly suspending reason, which then, unfortunately, is not limited only to the religious realm. So it is not as simple as "just believe what you believe".

there is value in discussing beliefs, however I find no good in fighting over them and these kinds of threads usually turn into disgusting finger-pointing and insult fests that gets both sides nowhere. but I got dishes to wash so I'm out.

Ever thought about the fact that all we are is memories? Everything we do, everything we consider ourselves to be are all guided by things that we remember.

These memories give us our identity. So. How can there be a continuation of identity without the memories currently stored in our brains.

Ever thought about the fact that when we think, we think in the language we are brought up with?

it can be that simple, but we humans always like to make things harder than they have to be.

yes, i get what your saying. But if we are just memories, where do they come from, and what are we?

Well, the US invaded Iraq because god told Bush that was the right thing to do. Just one example of how belief in god for no good reason is, unfortunately, quite damaging, and nowhere near as simple as you want to make it.
